Dr. Olivier Barre was born and raised in Paris (France). He always had a love and passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He pursued his passion in 2011 after being awarded in 2007 his PhD in Biochemistry/Biomedicine (Switzerland). He came to Canada in 2008 to do extensive research on Cancer at UBC. He has published his results in scientific journals and presented them at several international conferences. He travelled to China to further his knowledge and skills in TCM. He engages in continuing education to offer the best care to his patients. TCM has different tools such as Acupuncture, Cupping Therapy, Bleeding, Ear acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Injections in order to help patients. Dr. Barre has focused his practice in different fields: Pain Management/Sport Injuries, Digestive Problems, Infertility, Skin Conditions/Cosmetic/Anti Aging. was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. Zoe has always been drawn to health care, specifically in nursing. She finished her nursing studies in Iran before her immigrating to Canada, now as a Registered Nurse for Providence Health Care at St. Paul’s Hospital in medical and surgical units. She has been an active member of CRNBC for over decade. 

Fascinated and amazed by skin treatments, non-surgical fat-reduction procedures, she decided to pursue her passion, successfully completing her training and obtaining certification from the British Columbia Academy Of Medical Aesthetics and Skincare. Furthermore, she is an active member of the Canadian Association of Medical Spa and Aesthetic Surgeons, and also holds certification in Medical Esthetics and Facial Care from ASFA Academy. 

Ever since she has been able to hone her skills in performing facials and microdermabrasion, Radio Frequency/ High Frequency (RF/HF) in medical spa clinics, she utilizes both science and nature to provide result-oriented and personalized treatments for acneic, photo-damage/aging, and sensitive skin to restore skin health by using the freshest technology and ingredients customized to each client’s needs. Courtenay Pletz, RMT, graduated from Langara College in 2016 with additional certification in Subtle Manual Therapies. Since then, she has had experience working with clients in both spa and clinical settings. Courtenay employs a variety of techniques in her treatments, including: myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations and assisted stretching, as well as classic swedish relaxation massage. Courtenay enjoys working with patients to treat muscle aches and pains and provides stretches and modifications to help reduce these aches and pains beyond the treatment space. Courtenay also believes in taking a holistic approach in aiding the body to heal itself, which usually involves suggestions for patient self care. Expect a problem solving approach as well as an opportunity to actively partake in achieving your optimal health and wellness.

Sookyung Ahn (www.skcounselling.com) received her Diploma in Professional Counselling from the Vancouver College of Counsellor Training as well as Addictions Workers Certificate. Sookyung is registered counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (RTC#2243) and a member of Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.  Sookyung’s counselling speciality focuses on substance and behavioral addictions, life transition, career transition, depression and relationship management.

At Alaunius Integrated Medicine, Sookyung’ objective as a Clinical Counsellor is to assist others in expressing themselves and healing in a safe, supportive, accepting and nurturing environment.  She believes that all humans carry within them a resiliency and an innate wisdom that allows them not only to heal but also to change and grow throughout their entire life.  Sookyung believes that many presenting issues reflect some kind of difficulty with underlying developmental and maturation processes. These processes often involve emotional, psychological, physical, intellectual, philosophical and spiritual components.   It is her belief that the integration of different theoretical perspectives, coupled with an expanding appreciation of what it means to be human, can bring meaningful results and be helpful to solving the issues.

Sookyung’s post-secondary education includes a BA in History, MBA in International Business and Marketing and Juris Doctorate of Law Degree from the Oklahoma City University, USA.  Sookyung enjoys painting and volunteers  in Downtown East Side with Enterprising Women Making Art and as a Smart Recovery group facilitator at the Turning Point Recovery Society.
